We have an exciting opportunity for a Trustee to join the The Yorkshire Water Community Trust on their Board.
The opportunity is on a volunteer basis, with travel expenses reimbursed. Meetings would take place in Bradford or online via Microsoft Teams.
What is the opportunity all about?
The Yorkshire Water Community Trust is excited to be looking for a new Trustee to join their board. The principle aim of the Trust is to help those who are in poverty or suffering hardship and are unable to pay water and/or sewerage charges. In doing so, we enable customers to start breaking the cycle of debt and to resolve their debt problems in the long term. Since 1995, the independent charity has supported over 40,000 financially struggling customers with award payments towards their water and/or sewerage arrears with Yorkshire Water.
Do you, or someone you know:
- have experience working with vulnerable people and affordability issues?
- work with or have knowledge of diverse communities?
- enjoy helping other people?
- like to contribute to the welfare of others?
If so, then we want to hear from you.
What is required of the Trustee role:
- Attend quarterly Trust meetings, held in Bradford or online (via Microsoft Teams);
- Evaluate applications and audit decisions made by Trust Officers;
- Review criteria and operating procedures on an on-going basis
Trustees are expected to devote a minimum of 8 (not full) pre-arranged days each year to the Trust. The initial term of office is 3 years.
If you think you are, or you know, the right person for the role and would like further information, please contact Claire Gott, Trust Manager, on 07790 616153 or by e-mail to Claire Gott at ywcommtrust@loop.co.uk
Interested candidates should apply to this advert and include a brief CV and covering letter outlining their suitability for the Trustee role.
