About the Role
Under the direction of the maintenance manager, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining a cleanly facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. Their duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning surfaces with disinfectant and emptying trash cans or recycling bins.
Your Responsibilities
- Operate cleaning equipment, floor scrubbers and Hi-Lo machines. Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on requirements
- Restock cleaning supplies as needed. Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls
- Remove debris and snow from sidewalks
- Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal
- Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities. Resupplying or restocking restroom paper products and soaps
Who we are looking for
- Good communication & organization skills
- Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them. Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
- Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
- Excellent time-management skills
- Great attention to detail which assists with keeping the facility clean
Your preferred qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of custodial preferably in a manufacturing facility setting
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing facility preferred
- Experience in safety, quality and housekeeping on the plant floor preferred
- Operate cleaning equipment, floor scrubbers and Hi-Lo machines
- Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on requirements
