The Artificial Lift Engineer, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Production Engineering team, reporting to the Production Engineering Manager.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
• Surveil and optimize production wells to maximize value and ensure well integrity.
• Provide operational/engineering support during new well start-up.
• Work with Production operations & engineering teams to identify reliability, cost reduction, and debottlenecking projects.
• Daily surveillance/optimization/troubleshooting with operations personnel for difficult to operate, high failure frequency wells, and/or high value wells.
• Utilize and maintain existing data sets and tools necessary to perform optimization workflows for all production wells.
• Identify, evaluate, and test new technology, hardware, automation, and autonomous control algorithms to evaluate and optimize wells real-time.
• Build, maintain, and tune nodal analysis models to ensure each well’s performance is optimized within network constraints and design.
• Primary contact for gas lift and plunger lift: provider interface, operational issues, cost control, standardizing best practices for optimization, reliability, equipment longevity, etc.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• A BS degree in Engineering from a competitive four-year college or university, with strong academic credentials.
• Experience working for and/or with oil and gas operating companies with unconventional and conventional assets
• Knowledge of artificial lift design, well and facility operations and optimization, ancillary bottom hole equipment function and design, workover intervention objectives and processes, and root cause failure of mechanical equipment with special emphasis on gas lift and plunger lift.
• Proficient in production systems and/or artificial lift design and production modeling applications to extract full value from surveillance software and datasets (Spotfire, Power BI, OFM, OSI PI, ForeSite, WellFlo, PROSPER, PipeSim, Palantir, etc.)with special emphasis on gas lift and plunger lift.
• Proficient in managing, manipulating, and merging large datasets (Microsoft SQL, Oracle) which feed surveillance tools and workflows.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and leadership skills.
• Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with multi-faceted problems.
