Based at our HQ in Baker Street we are looking for an experienced Valuer (Partner) to join our rapidly growing Global Data Centres service line.
Data Centre Team
Knight Frank founded the dedicated Data Centre service line over 3 years ago. In this brief time the team has grown to provide capital markets, development agency, occupational services, and data centre valuation. The valuation team has grown to 5 team members and in the last 12 months alone has valued over £8.5BN in data centre assets with clients including AWS, Cyrus One, Cloud HQ, and Telehouse. In terms of revenue, we are one of the fastest growing departments within Knight Frank.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive valuation and advisory services for Data Centre clients across the globe and perform detailed valuations of data centres for clients, including assessing their condition, features, and market value. However, perhaps more importantly, they will also be encouraged to liaise with clients, attend conferences, and help the head of the valuation team win and retain business.
The candidate does not require to have data centre experience. However, they will be expected to have at least 5 years valuation experience within the property industry, be RICS qualified, and be a registered RICS valuer. Experience with trading or operational assets is preferred. It is an absolute necessity that the candidate is well experienced with DCF based valuing and modelling.
The learning curve will be steep but the opportunity to help build a growing service line will be perhaps unmatched by other real estate sectors. We work across EMEA and APAC and reasonably frequent travelling will be required.
Main Responsibilities:
- Build client relationships and assist winning new business mandates
- Prepare and deliver valuation reports for data centres (Travel required)
- Research and analyse data centre market trends and performance of data centre assets
- Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services
- Utilise financial modelling skills
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the data centre industry
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the data centre industry
- Attend conferences and other industry events to stay abreast of the latest trends and developments. (Travel required)
- Assess data centre condition, features, and market value (Travel required)
- Implement processes and procedures to ensure accurate valuations
- Provide recommendations to clients on the most appropriate valuation methods
- Adhere to industry regulations and standards
- Assist and work alongside our Head of Data Centre Valuations
- Provide oversight vetting and signature responsibilities within Data Centre Valuations
Qualifications & Required skills:
- RICS Chartered Surveyor
- Minimum of 5-years experience in valuing real estate assets
- Experienced DCF valuer (Essential), preferably with trading asset experience
- A willingness to learn about data centres and their operation
- Linguistic skills preferred
