About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Addictions, the Ward Clerk is the unit's initial contact, ensuring clear concise communication and facilitating the flow of information with other facilities, the health care team, visitors, family members, and patients. As part of a multidisciplinary team the Ward Clerk provides supportive service to patients, staff, and physicians and works in cooperation with departments within the hospital setting and other units in addition to linking with other MHA services and community agencies when indicated. The role may include but is not limited to stocking and ordering equipment for the department, completing work orders for facility management, staff replacement for sick calls/filling staffing needs in scheduling, time entry, and data/registration entry.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12
- Graduate of an approved office administration course
- Successful completion of a course in medical terminology
- One (1) year clerical experience in a mental health setting within the last five (5) years
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills applicable to this client base (in person and by telephone)
- Proficient and accurate keyboarding skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to work in an area with frequent interruptions
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives
$22.89 - $24.88 Hourly
