About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Public Health Strategic Policy and Planning and working closely with the Provincial Public Health Leadership Team, the Manager, Planning, Quality, and System Performance, promotes fundamental improvements and innovation to quality management practices enhancing overall Public Health quality performance and care delivery for clients and families. This position enables and supports the development and implementation of strategic initiatives that support excellence, PH priorities and goals. 

 

The Manager ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of innovation and excellence within the provision of care and is responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of quality management and safety programs, and compliance with relevant standards and accreditation requirements. The Manager facilitates and champions a learning environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of the Nova Scotia Health. 

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health science required.
  • Master’s Degree (Public Health, health administration, community health, business administration or relevant health sciences) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Eligible for registration with relevant health discipline/college or association.
  • Certified Health Executive designation is an asset.
  • Equivalent combination of education and 5 years progressive leadership experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrates high degree of independent decision-making, self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyse evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management and evaluation, redesign, and quality improvement methodologies. Strategic planning and systems thinking
  • Minimum of three years of experience in applied analytical activities, strategic planning, project management, facilities planning, program development and evaluation, or quality management in a health care setting.
  • Knowledge of Accreditation Canada and the accreditation process
  • Sound Knowledge and skillfull application of quality improvement principals and approaches
  • Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.

Hours

  • Permanent Full Time /100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly 
  • Start Date: April 2024

Compensation and Incentives

$43.91- $58.33 Hourly

 

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
