About the Opportunity

The OPOR Clinical Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to interprofessional teams within a patient-centred, collaborative practice model for OPOR-CIS and technology enabled practice, clinical adoption, support and training activities. 

 

Working collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers, the Manager applies strategic and analytical thinking to address challenges to ensuring ongoing meaningful use of the technology (inclusive of CIS) to support clinical best practice and care and achieve the ultimate goal of high quality, safe and cost effective services to better support patient experience/outcome. 

 

The Manager exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the objectives of the OPOR Program and the Mission and Vision and Strategic Directions of OPOR Program as supported by IWK & NS Health.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health related discipline, Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in a patient-facing clinical care role
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment
  • Experience developing and facilitating strategies consistent with the principles of Organizational Health
  • Demonstrated proficiency in program planning, financial and human resource management, oral and written communication and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to successfully change, adapt, overcome, and cope with unexpected challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners across the healthcare continuum
  • Demonstrated commitment to employee and self-development and continuous quality improvement
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, internet, email, and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support
  •  working flexible/extended hours and travelling within and outside NSHA as necessary

Hours

  • Long-assignment, Full-time Position; 75 Hours Bi-weekly 
  • Approximately 2.5 years with possibility of extension (assignment length subject to change) 

Compensation and Incentives

$44.13 - $55.16 Hourly
