Ornua Ingredients North America custom formulates and manufactures a complete line of pasteurized process cheese products. We are looking for an energetic, fast-paced, hardworking and reliable employee to join our Utility team!

Role Overview: The Product Operative responsible for Clean Facility Maintenance performs all tasks involved with disposing of wastes and recyclables created at the production lines.  This position is required to follow all good manufacturing practices and demonstrate/practice safe work habits. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Delivers totes for cardboard recycling to Production Lines 
• Empties waste bins into the compactor 
• Operates cardboard bailer and makes cardboard bales as needed 
• Operates the trash compactor and notifies the Production Supervisor when the compactor is getting full 
• Able to perform heavy lifting 
• Maintains a clean and safe work area 
• Other duties as required, including working on and/or filling in on the Production Lines 

Hours: Monday-Friday 6AM-4PM

Compensation: $18/hour

Key Deliverables:

• Work in accordance with written work instructions in maintain clean, efficient plants 
• Follow all safe operating procedures when operating the garbage compactor and cardboard bailer 
• Follow high level good manufacturing practices to ensure that the integrity of products are maintained (such as wearing smocks, booties, etc.) 
• Report any issues and/or concerns regarding equipment 
• Report any issues that could compromise food safety  
• Maintain a team focus and be available to fill in where needed 

Required Skills:

• Safe and competent operation of:      
• Garbage Compactor 
• Cardboard Bailer 
• Others as needed 

Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent 
• Solid work history is a must, including accuracy in work tasks 
• Excellent verbal, analytical and organization skills 
• Basic math, reading and communication skills required 
• Prior food manufacturing experience preferred 
• Knowledge of good manufacturing practices is a plus

• Cleaning supplies and chemicals
• Hearing protection
• Eye protection
• Bump cap
• Safety shoes/boots
• Protective gloves and face shields when working with chemicals

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds constantly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. 
• Stand for extended periods of time.  
• Vision including the ability to read, distance vision, and peripheral.  
• Walk frequently 
• Stand constantly 
• Climb ramps or stairs occasionally
