The Analyst (Volatiles) will be responsible for performing analyses of client samples in the Volatiles laboratory using analytical techniques and procedures. You will have the opportunity to partner with knowledgeable laboratory professionals to prepare, test, and analyze various sample types for volatile organic compounds.
What you will do:
- Perform sample analysis using GC/MS and GC/FID methods.
- Collect, prepare and analyze samples within the laboratory environment.
- Prepare lab for daily operations, including stocking materials, evaluating equipment, and performing safety and cleaning procedures.
- Support the testing process by preparing samples for analysis.
- Ensure appropriate testing procedures are conducted in compliance with Quality Assurance and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requirements.
- Schedule, prepare, and analyze samples based on method requirements within allotted time frame.
- Review, complete, and process logs and additional documentation as required.

What you will bring:

Bachelor's degree Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field; or experience in lieu of.

3 years previous experience working in environmental laboratory preferred.

Previous experience working in an environmental laboratory is preferred.

Thorough understanding of GC/FID, GC/MS prescribed methods.

Exceptional time management and communication skills.

Strong data analysis and documentation abilities.

Strong working knowledge of general laboratory equipment.

Ability to communicate with people from various backgrounds.

- Eager to learn, take initiative, quick learner, and self-motivated.

Read and write in English, able to follow written/verbal instructions.
