Purpose of Job
To plan and supervise the vehicle test scheduling. Work to secure test business by developing external and internal customer relations. Project lead and deliver test projects at optimum profit, quality and time
To support continuous improvement by providing processes & tools for engine build, test and test support areas.
Duties
- To supervise the Test Technicians in the preparation and installation of vehicles onto test facilities
- To maintain vehicle test procedures
- To develop the capabilities of team members including training requirements
- Responsible for maximising utilisation of test facilities
- Responsible for delivering high quality data
- Responsible for vehicle test facility compliance with Company quality procedures
- To develop relationships with key customers towards obtaining test work opportunities
- To liaise with quality departments to ensure compliance of Build and Test with Company procedures
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a vehicle test or Emissions environment is required.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in an automotive (preferably engine) related engineering position is essential
- Good knowledge of lean concepts
- Detailed knowledge of emissions legislation – current and future
- Understanding of Health and Safety, Risk and COSHH assessments
