Starting Rate of pay: $25.50/hour
Shift Premium: Nightshift $1.50/hour extra
Shifts Available and Hours:
Days-6:00am to 6:00pm then Nights are 6:00pm to 6:00am
This position follows the DuPont shift schedule.
The DuPont shift schedule uses a four-week cycle:
four-night shifts, three days off, three-day shifts, one day off, three-night shifts, three days off, four-day shifts, seven days off.
The schedule then repeats itself at the end of this 28-day cycle.
Required Education/Experience:
- Ability to understand and deliver basic commands in English.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to use a calculator and read a measuring tape.
- Capability to lift 50lbs.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent punctuality and attendance record.
- Experience with forklift and crane operations is preferred.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts.
- Interpersonal skills: Team player, organized, self-starter, adaptable to change, results-oriented, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial, fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up equipment accurately and interpret gauging equipment readings.
- Maintain meticulous records both on paper and computer systems.
- Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid loaders, sweepers, and overhead cranes.
- Conduct quality control checks during operations and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Prioritize safety in all job tasks and adhere to safety rules and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Report any unsafe conditions or actions.
- Charge scrap metal into furnaces, ensuring they are free of contaminants.
- Ensure the metal in furnaces is at the proper temperature.
