Level 3 Manager – Executive Hiring Team - UKI – 12 Month Secondment 
UK Wide – hybrid working
 

Background and Job Purpose:
EY’s UK&I Executive Hiring Team is responsible for Director and Partner (Non-Equity) hiring across all EY’s Service Lines: Assurance, Tax, Consulting, Strategy & Transactions and Core Business Services. The team delivers the entire recruitment process for Senior level hires, from role briefing, candidate sourcing and executive search, to assessment and selection and offer and on-boarding. 

 

We are looking for an experienced consultative executive search recruitment expert and trusted advisor, working closely with Hiring Partners and other key stakeholders, across all service lines, to understand their talent needs and ensure a seamless hiring process.  

 

You will use your expertise to devise and execute direct sourcing and executive search strategies to attract leading senior level talent and influence your stakeholders based on your findings.

Responsibilities:
Executive Search and Sourcing Strategy

  • Formulates and delivers robust executive search mandates for Director and Partner (Non-Equity) level roles, based on a thorough understanding of recruitment requirements.
  • Continually develops a strong network of candidates at Director and Partner (Non-Equity) level in the external market, as well as meeting new joiners and key business contacts to better identify leading talent across the market.
  • Innovates and applies creativity in the development of sourcing strategies, efficiency of process and consistency in service delivery. 
  • Assesses new sourcing tools and techniques to position Executive Hiring to respond to the rapidly evolving recruitment needs and priorities of the business. 
  • Drives the ongoing development and management of talent pools to meet current hiring requirements and commercial priorities, as well as to support medium- and longer-term growth objectives. 
  • Delivers value-added competitor/ market intelligence and information to a wide stakeholder group on topics such as compensation & benefits, market trends, new market entry. 
  • Partners closely with the DAP (Direct Admit Partner) hiring team on executive search mandates, as well as the Experienced Hire Talent Acquisition team, to ensure we are going to market as one EY, where applicable, and keeping abreast of future potential hires and pipelines. 
  • Acts as an ambassador for EY in the external talent market, expressing a sophisticated, nuanced vision of our employee value proposition and growth strategies as a firm to differentiate EY from its competitors.
  • Contribute to and deliver Executive Hiring’s response and support for key strategic objectives of the firm such as DE&I and the NextWave growth strategy. 

 

Partnering With the Business

  • Business partner for service line(s) – works with a range of senior business stakeholders to initiate and manage Director and Partner (Non-Equity) hiring and future strategic development priorities. 
  • Educate and support business stakeholders on process, protocols and governance to ensure Directors and Partner (Non-Equity) are hired without risk and all compliance needs have been met. 
  • Effectively partner with key stakeholders in Talent and Operations to ensure continual alignment to plan and forecasted demand. 
  • Presents and promotes the Executive Hiring team’s service offerings to a diverse group of senior business stakeholders, differentiating our approach to those of external search firms and recruitment agencies.  
  • Support business stakeholders to shape a response to immediate hiring needs, developing an appropriate go-to-market strategy.
  • Proactively provide and present intelligence on topics such as, hiring activity, business growth, compensation trends and talent development initiatives in competitor organisations. 

 

MI and Reporting

  • Proactively introduce and further develop appropriate metrics and reporting for Executive Hiring. 
  • Interpret performance against KPIs to tailor and refine operational practices and processes across the function and service line(s). 
  • Develop Executive Hiring processes, as well as supporting GDPR compliant process refinements and the evolution of SuccessFactors and Beamery usage, to maximise return from these systems. 
  • Uses Success Factors effectively to ensure data is maintained with integrity and accuracy to support the effective attraction of candidates and reporting on recruitment activity.

 

Inclusive Assessment and Selection  

  • Advises on, selects and conducts robust, fair and objective executive search assessments for Director and Partner (Non-Equity) within the organisation.   
  • Champions inclusive recruitment and selection approaches   
  • Provides expert guidance to hiring managers and stakeholders on selection criteria and interview best practice.  

 

Team Management and Contribution

  • Partner with the Head of Executive Hiring to shape a vision and strategy to ensure continual evolution of the team and its high-performance
  • Partner with fellow Executive Hiring Managers, to share best practice, market intelligence and support when required.  
  • Supervise, coach and mentor Senior Recruiter(s) in the team to contribute to the development of the team and model overall.
  • Performance management as a counsellor including managing disciplinary and performance issues as required.
  • Coach and coordinate training for the Senior Recruiter(s) in the team to ensure best practice and to promote continuous improvement.

 

To qualify for the role, the successful applicant will bring:

  • Able to drive and deliver executive search solutions for Director and Partner (Non-Equity) hiring across the service line(s), underpinned by deep knowledge of candidate sourcing tools, strategies, and methodologies.
  • Highly developed knowledge and experience of delivering in Talent Acquisition and end-to-end recruitment contexts. 
  • Demonstrable ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, whilst being able to balance competing stakeholder pressures and priorities. 
  • Ability to coach and motivate team members to deliver against commercial objectives, as well as ensuring high standards of service delivery and promoting a positive working culture. 
  • Commercial acumen such that Executive Hiring return-on-investment can be ensured and maximised. 
  • A thorough understanding of the importance of operational efficiency and the impact this has should the right processes and protocols not be followed. 
  • Highly developed project management skills – able to plan and manage projects, shifting priorities and deadlines in a quality-driven and timely manner.
  • Experience of delivering executive search improvement initiatives to help to position the team to further impact the overall sourcing mix and reduce reliance on agency hires. 
  • Experience of change management to make a meaningful contribution to the ongoing development of the Executive Hiring model and team.

  • Relationship building skills incorporating recognition of the need to adapt communication style and approach to build and maintain effective, sustainable relationships, internally and externally. 
  • Able to challenge recruitment and business stakeholders, where necessary, to strike a balance between pursuing desired outcomes and communicating operational challenges. 
  • Objectivity: be able to step back and appraise the effectiveness of Executive Hiring activities, questioning, where appropriate, whether activities are returning proportionate value. 
  • Able to blend daily operational focuses with a longer-term perspective to ensure focus on key firm-wide priorities e.g., DE&I. 
  • Able to manage complex and ambiguous situations, hierarchies and hiring assignment situations fluently. 
  • Strong interest in and commitment to continuous improvement through finding opportunities to innovate to drive heightened efficiency, as well as to respond to the rapidly changing nature of EY as a business and its service offering.
