The opportunity
As a Pursuits Strategist / Bid Manager, you will play a pivotal role by partnering with Leadership and account teams to secure strategic, high value opportunities for EY by working on the end-to-end pursuit / bid process, from initiation to closure.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will lead the development of compelling proposals, ensuring that they align with client needs and showcase our capabilities effectively.
You’ll manage communication campaigns, draft value propositions, develop those proposals and facilitate our readiness for those proposals.
You’ll help to tell the story of why EY and how we’re building a better working world.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate both virtually and face to face in a hybrid environment, with cross-functional teams to understand client needs and ensure seamless coordination and alignment in pursuit activities to develop winning pursuit strategies.
- Provide a full-service pursuit management model for regional strategic, high-end opportunities.
- Facilitate and contribute to strategy sessions, managing output, and driving actions.
- Develop strategic messaging and lead the conceptualisation of all client-facing pursuit collateral.
- Manage and lead the development of value propositions.
- Ensure quality control of all client-facing materials during the pursuit.
- Track and analyse pursuit metrics, including post-pursuit analysis and review, to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to the pursuit process.
- Champion CoE best-practice pursuit management tools and processes.
- Influence and challenge the account team to optimise the chances of winning.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to others and support the onboarding and training of new hires in the region.
- Manage third-party relationships as appropriate.
Skills and attributes for success
You will be a solution-oriented individual who can make sound decisions quickly, demonstrating versatility in a constantly evolving hybrid working business environment. You’ll be able to show a proven record of winning bids and tenders and collaborating with colleagues to achieve successful outcomes.
To qualify for this role, you must have some or all of the following
- Proven track record in strategic pursuit and bid / opportunity management with demonstrated success in leading and contributing to successful high-value pursuits.
- Demonstrated skill in influencing and building positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and teams.
- Excellent project management skills.
Ideally you’ll also have
- Strong leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to inspire and motivate others, with a proven ability to influence and drive results without formal authority.
- Experience leading and coaching individuals or teams with the ability to guide and mentor colleagues.
- Experience in developing external marketing communications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
