Position Overview:

Beam is looking for a highly energetic and motivated individual to join our growing Non-Clinical Bioanalysis team in the Non-Clinical Development Department.  The Research Associate I/II will be responsible for executing bioanalytical assays (including ELISA, MSD, and qPCR) to support non-clinical development of Beam’s drug candidates. This is an opportunity to learn highly marketable bioanalytical skills using state-of-the-art technologies with mentorship from experts in the field of bioanalysis. Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of novel bioanalytical assays to support Beam’s pharmacology and toxicology in vivo studies.
• Gain necessary skills to use automated liquid handler robots in the execution of bioanalytical assays
• Act as point person for data analysis following assay execution.
• Participate in the presentation of data to the Bioanalytical group.
• Rigorously document experimental execution using an electronic notebook, highlighting all deviations from standard operating procedures.
• Keep abreast of compliance trainings, strive to maintain a safe laboratory environment, oversee laboratory consumable inventory and order new supplies as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in scientific field (Biochemistry or Molecular Biology preferred).
• Undergraduate research experience preferred with 0-2 years of biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience.  Level will be commensurate with experience.
• Experience with plate-based assays such as ELISA and qPCR a plus.
• Competencies with the full suite of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Teams)
• Strong verbal and written communicator.
• Attention to detail with a mind for critical thought seeking to always improve our executional paradigms.
• Organized and capable of managing one’s own schedule.
• Less than 5% travel required.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift 50 lbs.
• Onsite position at Beam’s Cambridge location in the heart of Kendall Square.
