We are looking for a dedicated Financial Accountant / Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a high-growth organization and be part of our journey to success. As a Financial Accountant / Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department in various financial activities. You will work closely with the Finance team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, record-keeping and analysis. This position requires a strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
You will report to the Financial Controller and work alongside two more junior team members.
What you will be doing
1. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Support with the month end close process by performing reconciliations, posting required journals, and preparing management accounts.
Help to ensure compliance across several jurisdictions with relevant accounting standards, statutory laws, and regulations.
Support with external audits and tax filings, liaising with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
2. Financial Operations:
Contribute to the development of efficient processes and the maintenance of a strong internal control environment as we bring more of our accounting processes in-house.
Take responsibility for some routine accounting processes, such as small parts of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, cost allocations, maintaining our fixed asset register, and similar tasks.
3. Projects:
Contribute to projects which will have a significant impact on the business, ranging from a reporting overhaul to development of a new treasury strategy.
4. Team work:
Adopt a ‘finance as an enabler’ mindset, working to make the lives of the wider Xeneta team easier.
Provide guidance and support to junior team members on specific topics.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal understanding with awareness of cultural differences within the team and the company overall.
Your Profile and Experience
Your professional background and experience:We are looking for someone with 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, such as a listed company or big 4. Previous experience in a SaaS or technology company is an advantage. In addition, you have:
Bachelor's / Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (Netsuite).
Norwegian and/or German VAT and tax compliance knowledge is an advantage.
Familiarity with Power BI or similar is an advantage.

Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent knowledge of financial principles, processes, and best practices.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
