Cormica Bradford Ltd is a GMP/GLP accredited specialist contract research laboratory (CRO), with over 25 years’ experience in delivering high quality analytical and laboratory support to the pharmaceutical, medical device, agrochemical, biocide/pesticide, chemical and other industry sectors. - Starting salary of £16,000 - £18,000 per year (rising to National Living Wage for candidates aged 21+ after 12 months)
- 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
- 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
What will I be doing as an apprentice? The role focusses on supporting the Facilities and Operations teams with the day-to-day running of the laboratories, particularly with regard to calibrations, performance verifications, chemical and samples stores support, and laboratory administration. The holder reports to the Facilities Officer.
In agreement with their line manager, the Laboratory Assistant will schedule their daily work activities in the order:
- Supporting the Operations team with laboratory-focussed tasks (calibrations, chemical and sample store support, and similar).
- Working with the Facilities team to complete with daily, monthly, quarterly and annual laboratory housekeeping and administration duties.
- Responding to ad hoc requests for assistance in the laboratories and stores.

So how does the apprenticeship work?
At Tiro we’re obsessed with changing lives through science and technology apprenticeships so we can’t wait to have you on board. Over 21 months, you’ll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on ‘off the job’ training. This can include theory training (for example, virtual lessons & online learning), alongside practical training (for example shadowing, mentoring, & time spent writing assignments. Together this will count towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at Cormica, who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career. Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or college environment. The best part? You’ll be earning a salary while you gain your qualifications, meaning no huge student loans to pay back at the end of the programme!

Eligibility
There are some minimum requirements you’ll need to meet in order to do an apprenticeship, these are rules set by the UK Government. You’ll need to be 18 or over, not in full time education, have lived in the UK for 3 years and have the right to work in the UK.
