Sr. Payroll Accountant at Latitude

Job Descrption
This position focuses in the areas of payroll, payroll analysis, general accounting, budgets, account reconciliations, standard and adjusting journal entries, variance analysis, financial reporting, and audit. Most importantly in this role you will need the ability to be self-directed in prioritizing responsibilities and deliverables while working with limited oversight!
Job Duties
- More payroll focused.
- Will do payroll analysis for all companies and serve as payroll back-up if/when needed.
- Oversee employee paychecks
- Calculate net salaries considering deductions and withholdings
- Ensure payroll and tax documents are accurate
- Update general ledger and payroll files
- Prepare accounting files, records, and schedules
- Monitor paid and unpaid leaves
- Process overtime earnings or holiday deductions
- Resolve payroll problems (e.g. overlooked bank holidays, late payments, etc.)
- Answer employee questions concerning payroll
- Participate in payroll audits
- Ensure compliance with governmental laws on payroll accounting and taxes
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree and 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Any healthcare experience is a plus but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; expert-level proficiency with Excel.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to establish priorities, work to strict deadlines, and to deal with shifting and competing priorities.
