Job Duties

• Potential site investigations including existing vegetation, soils, utilities, and road access.
• Interpretation of geotechnical data obtained from borings and pothole investigations and frozen soils.
• Design of transportation networks and building sites to accommodate vehicles and people in arctic locations.
• Study project objectives, scope of work, budget, and schedule. Be thoroughly familiar with all standards, design criteria, agency regulations, agency submittals, reviews, and permitting processes
• Prepare accurate base sheet data prior to the development of the engineering design.
• Provide the complete development of topographic surveys, utility mapping, typical sections, details, profiles, cross sections, notes, etc. as required for the design plans. Assist Project Engineer in performing design computations and design development / drafting for the project including soil data, vicinity map, floodplain map and wetland area map from internet or other resources to use for report and plans. Assist project engineer with preparation of specification, quantities, and estimate.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 2+ years of Civil Design Experience
• Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D or similar software experience.
• Works effectively within team environments.
• Driven, focused, and manages time well.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
