Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Multi-State Property Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities and operations of properties across multiple states within our real estate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of properties, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.Accounting: Oversee accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations for multiple properties.Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets for each property, ensuring accuracy and alignment with overall financial goals.Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for management review and decision-making.Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, tax laws, and company policies across all properties in different states.Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.Property Management Support: Collaborate with property managers to provide financial guidance and support, including analyzing financial performance and recommending strategies for improvement.Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, such as insurance coverage and contingency planning.Audit Coordination: Coordinate audits and reviews with external auditors, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided and compliance requirements are met.Communication: Communicate financial performance, trends, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and property owners.Technology Utilization: Utilize accounting software and other financial management tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.Team Management: Supervise a team of accounting and finance professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and support as needed.Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Several years of experience in real estate accounting or property management.CPA certification preferred.Knowledge of real estate laws and regulations across multiple states.Strong financial acumen and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively across multiple locations and with diverse teams.
