Responsibilities:Conduct process evaluations and assessments of wastewater treatment systems to identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings.Develop and implement process design and engineering solutions to address specific wastewater treatment challenges, such as nutrient removal, odor control, and sludge management.Utilize process modeling software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X) to simulate and analyze wastewater treatment processes, evaluate performance, and optimize system design and operation.Perform hydraulic and mass balance calculations, sizing calculations, and equipment selection for wastewater treatment systems and unit processes.Prepare engineering calculations, process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and other technical documents for wastewater treatment projects.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and technicians, to develop comprehensive wastewater treatment solutions that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.Provide technical support and guidance during the construction, commissioning, and startup of wastewater treatment facilities, including process troubleshooting and optimization.Conduct pilot-scale testing and field evaluations to validate process performance, assess treatment efficiency, and identify potential improvements for full-scale implementation.Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory developments in wastewater treatment and process engineering, and apply this knowledge to project design and execution.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.3+ years of experience in wastewater process engineering, consulting, or related field, with demonstrated expertise in process design, modeling, and optimization.Proficiency in process modeling software (e.g., BioWin, GPS-X) and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., InfoWorks, SWMM) for wastewater treatment applications.Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, unit operations, and treatment technologies, including activated sludge, biological nutrient removal, filtration, and disinfection.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards governing wastewater treatment, discharge, and environmental protection (e.g., EPA regulations, NPDES permits).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex wastewater treatment challenges and develop innovative solutions.Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts and findings to diverse stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams.Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe preferred.
