Location – Cuerden Depot PR5 6BS (but may be required to work at various locations throughout Lancashire)
Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highways related schemes across the County made up of 4300 miles of road, 171,000 streetlights and 2955 bridges.
Starting salary dependent on skills and experience.
We have an excellent opportunity for an Electrician based at our Cuerden Depot. The successful candidates will be required to carry out column and sign installation / removal, call outs, and other duties which are deemed appropriate to the post. The posts being advertised are permanent subject to a six-month probationary period being successfully completed.
For the successful candidate there may be in the future opportunities to carry out LGV driving licence training funded by LCC which could lead to career progression and carrying out winter maintenance on the roads of Lancashire.
The candidate will hold a current full driving licence with significant experience of working within the street lighting construction and maintenance sector. As this role involves working on the highway network, we also require someone with an excellent awareness of health and safety legislation and traffic management systems pertaining to street lighting construction and maintenance. The successful candidates will be required to carry out repairs, lantern fitting, column / sign erecting, jointing, cut-outs, out of hours call outs, and other duties which are deemed appropriate to the post.
