The Engineering Program Management (EPM) team supports New Model Launch and manages launches from design kickoff through the start of production with the goal of executing smooth and successful launches for their assigned programs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The EPM Specialist will lead cross-functional teams from various internal disciplines through the new product/vehicle launch process. This position will:
Facilitate the creation of a clear master schedule to align and make visible all key customer and department specific milestones
Set the launch cadence to support QA/PE/PDE/PC and other core CFT members in meeting kanseido milestones
Lead internal Kickoff, Launch Review meetings, and post-trial status meetings
Perform risk assessment throughout the project and visualize actions needed to close gaps
Escalate items at risk in order to support departments in driving countermeasures to obstacles preventing project progression
Prepare, present, and publish launch summary status updates to upper management
Maintain joint responsibility alongside the core CFT departments for project success
The successful candidate must be willing to take initiative, manage the ‘big picture’, and effectively lead by influence. This specialist will drive positive collaboration while helping peers maintain accountability for milestone achievement.
For the specialist interested in career advancement or job rotation, this is an opportunity to step away from a focused engineering discipline and develop an in-depth understanding of each key role within our core departments. The role also provides a chance to compare their traditional engineering job role to a role focused exclusively on leadership principles for those trying to determine if they are interested in a technical or leadership career path. EPM engineers will work both independently and with their CoC to actively develop and enhance leadership skills as part of the job function.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Equivalent technical, manufacturing, leadership, and program management certification/experience may be considered.
2-5 years of experience required.
Preferred experience launching a new vehicle, product, or process.
Preferred demonstrated experience with product or process launch milestones and the ability to organize and lead cross-functional teams.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to navigate accountability while maintaining positive inter-departmental relationships.
