Due to year-on-year success and business growth, Intertek Melbourn now has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented Laboratory Support Team Leader to join our Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) laboratories.
Key Requirements:
- Some relevant laboratory experience.
- Experience managing or supervising a team is preferred.
- Experience with common pharmaceutical materials and equipment is an advantage.
- Flexible and responsive to support routine and non-routine requests as part of a team.
- Motivated to learn and develop their skills.
- Good IT literacy skills
- Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly convey processes, results and key messages and able to build rapport, quickly and effectively
About The Opportunity
The Laboratory Support Team Leader will line manage the Laboratory Technicians and any Laboratory Trainees. You will provide effective daily supervision to the team, providing support, guidance and through the line management structure and ensuring line management activities are delivered to a consistently high standard.
Key activities:
- Plan and organise workload for themselves and other members of The Laboratory Support Team when necessary.
- Work with the Lab Support team to ensure a supply of clean glassware is available for laboratory use
- Support and supervise the Laboratory Support Team in delivering sample coordination services, ensuring that samples are receipted, booked in and disposed of in line with SOP
- Assist the Lab Support Team in monitoring and maintaining consumable levels within the goods-in areas and ensure that consumables in the lab areas are re-stocked
- Work with the Lab Support Team to deliver waste management services, ensuring that bins are routinely emptied, and lab waste is stored and disposed of in-line with the company’s waste management procedures.
- Ensure that QMS records are raised when appropriate by the Laboratory Support Team, and are closed out in a timely manner
- The role requires the individual to be an effective communicator with staff across all levels of the business. Clear communication, both written and oral, with manager and colleagues are essential to maintain the smooth running of the team.
