We have an opening within our 8 East Peds Medical Surgical Unit at Riley Hospital for Children. This is a place where you can make a positive impact on the lives of your patients while also building strong relationships with your colleagues and developing your nursing practice with the support of your colleagues.
This position functions within 8 East in the Simon Family Tower at Riley Children’s Hospital. A Registered Nurse on this unit focuses on a firm foundation of nursing skills in a supportive environment while caring for patients to include developmental pediatrics, orthopedics, and metabolic disorders. 8 East is a 24 bed pediatric med-surg unit with an array of primary specialties. We care for children that are admitted under Developmental Peds (ex: CP, Spina Bifida, Autism), Orthopedics (ex: broken bones, spinal fusions, hip dysplasia repairs), and Endocrine (ex: new onset diabetes). With the wide variety of patient populations we care for, there is an abundance of opportunities to learn and grow each day to create a solid foundation in pediatric nursing.
Registered Nurses on 8 East pride themselves on their compassion and ability to provide the highest level of care to their patients. The ideal candidate will have one year of acute care experience and peds experience is preferred, while new graduates with PCA/CNA experience may be considered.
