Channel Market Sales Director at Pearson

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director to lead our efforts in promoting and selling our suite of learning products. As the Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with a team of sales professionals, provide guidance, and support, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives. This position will own the global quota on learning products across sales teams.  This position reports to the general manager of Certiport.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and objectives for learning products.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach a team of sales professionals to maximize their potential and performance.
  • Identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential customers, and assist in negotiating contracts to secure new customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product management, and customer support teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts with overall business objectives and learning product solutions.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts and reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in education learning products specific to the Career and Technical Education market segment.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans and strategies to penetrate new markets and expand our presence in existing markets.
  • Manage and optimize sales processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of learning product sales.
  • Understand category specific landscapes and trends and maintain a desire to learn and understand our company’s full portfolio of products and positioning in the market. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of sales management experience
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, preferably within the education, learning content or e-learning industry.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric approach and a passion for driving business growth.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales management tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors.
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of our products.
  • Pearson IT Specialist Certification highly preferred.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: 

The minimum full-time salary range is between $140,000 - $160,000.
