Arcadis is seeking a team-oriented, self-motivated individual to fill the position of Engineering Manager to join our team within the North America Places group. We are looking for senior professionals to grow our team of skilled Design Managers throughout North America.

Role description:

As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the overall delivery of major complex capex projects with a primary focus on excellence in architectural and engineering design. You will manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs and will support large projects with complex scope, multiple streams of work, and inter-dependencies.

Role accountabilities:

  • Overseeing multi-disciplinary design coordination and providing technical leadership to project teams
  • Coordinating with internal and external architects, engineers, designers, and managers to align strategic objectives and progress
  • Acting as primary client point of contact for project execution, planning and leading formal and informal touchpoints
  • Collaborate with project team members to identify opportunities and to implement strategies to optimize engineering efficiency and quality.
  • Leading client meetings, responding to enquiries, and collaborating across all stages of the project lifecycle 
  • Represents Arcadis as a safety leader and advocate ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health Administration [OSHA], or equivalent) to ensure compliance and aggressive management of risk.
  • Responsible for financial and project management controls which enable monitoring, modification and forecasting, as appropriate 
  • Support construction interface coordination. Support the RFI/DCR/FCR process. Integrate construction into early document, model, and schedule reviews. Interface with site field engineering. 
  • Driving timely service delivery including technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring delivery is above client expectation 
  • Support project schedule development. Evaluate milestones for technical, equipment and documentation deliverables. Review document submittal schedule and equipment on-site.
  • Maintains submittal control, including scheduling, receiving, reviewing, approving, and expediting submittals from suppliers and subcontractors to comply with the progress schedule

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary design teams for capex projects with a value greater than $25MM within a design and engineering consultancy environment 
  • Ability to effectively implement design delivery best practice including risk and change management, project set-up and planning 
  • Well-developed technical and commercial skills, with a sound knowledge of design and its relationship with all phases of the project life cycle
  • Established stakeholder management capability with a focus on building credible, collaborative but influential relationships, both internally and externally

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer, PE or Architect, RA or AIA
  • BA in Architecture or Engineering
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge and experience with Autodesk Products (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.), REVIT, and Bentley (MicroStation, etc.) software products, BIM 360.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Project Manager for vertical projects.
  • Progressive Design-Build delivery experience
  • Heavy Industrial, Laboratory, and/or Oil & Gas / Refinery experience
  • Demonstrated experience on green-build and tenant improvement projects. 
  • LEED AP

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000.
