Job Descrption

Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) seeks a YouTube Channel Project Manager (freelance) to join our growing company in the national broadcast television and digital content space. This is a part-time, temporary role lasting up to six months. This position is responsible for content delivery and management of HMPG’s Series-branded YouTube Channels. 

 

This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Licensing & Distribution.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of channel(s), including video uploads, metadata optimization, thumbnail creation, and playlist organization.
  • Assist in defining and executing channel strategy.
  • Implement and maintain SEO best practices to increase discoverability and organic growth.
  • Track and analyze channel performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to inform content strategy and optimization.
  • Stay up to date with YouTube trends, best practices, platform updates, and industry news.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a YouTube Channel Manager, preferably with long-form content.  
  • Strong understanding of YouTube algorithms, SEO, and audience growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in launching, managing, and growing YouTube channels.
  • Proficiency in video editing and graphic design software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Must have access to reliable high-speed internet.

 

Education

  • Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
  • HMPG is a proud supporter of military veterans. Related military training and experience will be considered.

 

The pay range for this role is $31.25 to $50.00 hourly. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills geographical location, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
