Job Offer – Regional Project Engineer (Process)
The Project Engineer (Process) core function is to provide support to EMEAI sites in development and delivery of moderate to large capital projects related to manufacturing chemical processes working throughout the full project lifecycle. This includes initial engineering studies, equipment design, quotes achievement.
The position works closely with Regional Engineering, Site Engineering, Site Manager, and cross functional division such as EHS, quality and operation to develop full scope, cost estimate and project schedule.
Experience in process engineering in chemical processes is preferred and will be potentially an area of future development in the role of Project/process engineer as Subject Matter Expertise for single platform and chemical processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop engineering work packages and cost estimate documentation for conceptual / preliminary design including:
- Major equipment identification and Functional Specifications
- Engineering Scopes of Work
- Origination of CAD based Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID’s, Equipment Layout, Elevation, and Plan View
- Collaborate with regional engineers and 3rd party engineering company to develop CAD bid packages and bidding documentation from conceptual through approved for construction.
- Collaborate with regional engineers and 3rd party engineering to develop and validate mass and energy balances for process designs. Solve moderately complex engineering design problems utilizing technical expertise and experience in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to develop project responding to the best available technologies in the 5 focus areas (safety, quality, service, cost and people)
- Obtains quotations from vendors on specified equipment (Vessels, Piping, Control Devices, Filling and Packaging, etc.)
Additional responsibilities include:
- Future Development as Subject Matter Expertise (SME) for single platform for manufacturing and filling chemical processes in the paint industry.
- Evaluate current and new or innovative processing equipment and systems to determine feasibility in operation.
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Preference is University Degree Qualified in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Has 5 years of experience in capital project design preferably in chemical process or similar field.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Chemical process design skills, application of fundamental chemical engineering principles into process designs.
- Process engineering knowledge and experience of chemical process equipment selection is preferred.
- CAD (computer aided design) software, CFD (computational fluid dynamic) software, statistical software (e.g. MiniTab), project management software (e.g. MS Project) is preferred.
- Everywhere in Europe.
Travel Requirements:
The position will require frequent travels in EMEAI region up to 40%-50% of the time according to the projects ongoing
