In the role of a Research and Development Chemist at Sherwin-Williams you will be responsible for the formulations of new products and reformulation of existing products.
This position can be based at either in Ambacht, in the Netherlands or in Sheffield, UK.
Development of new products/formulations
Reformulation of existing products
Evaluation and approval of alternative raw materials
Progressing of projects through to production scale up.
Evaluation of competitive products
Provision of support to the QA and Consumer Services Departments
Provision of support to R&D’s Stability Studies function
Progress new product development projects
Undertake reformulation projects and evaluate alternative raw materials to meet:
Legislative targets
Profit margin improvement
Performance improvement
Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline with 3 years industry experience
Master’s Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline
Six Sigma knowledge
Previous laboratory experience essential
Competent IT skills
Effective written & verbal communication skills
Confidence in presenting in formal or informal environments - essential
Paints/coatings formulation experience
Driving license is preferred due to occasional travel
