Job Descrption
This is a year round position and would be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week (during normal business hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm)
SUMMARY
As the bookkeeping co-op they would be responsible for reconciling manual bank accounts for a specific list of stores. These reconciliations occur on a month to month basis. This position provides exposure to our stores and the field personnel involved with store operations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Monitor all outstanding items on the depository reconciliation system on a daily basis
- Sending out letters, contacting various sources to resolve any outstanding issues
- Thoroughly document any actions taken regarding missing deposits, missing checks, under / over deposits, debit and credit memos, etc.
- Create journal vouchers in a timely manner for resolved items for all bank reconciliations
- Assist in Month end close process
- Submitting JV entries for posting to Oracle ledger system
- Completing assigned bank reconciliations after completing of month end process
- Handle phone calls, questions and correspondences with store managers, banks and division management

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master Degree with an Accounting or Finance focus.
- Ability to work in a co-op position no less than 12 months
- Required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during normal business hours
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
· Prior accounting/finance experience
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Good communication skills to effectively work with all field and corporate personnel on depository issues as they arise
- Must have a good understanding of accounting principles in order to reconcile account balances
