Leadership Development Program- Sales- West at Sherwin-Williams

Job Descrption

Sherwin-Williams is seeking motivated individuals who have a drive for sales in a business-to-business organization to join our Sales Leadership Development Program. This training program is designed to develop key skills and experience that will lead to a Sales Representative position within our Performance Coatings Group, supporting one of our technical divisions which include Coil, Industrial Wood, General Industrial, Packaging or Protective and Marine.

The Sherwin-Williams Performance Coatings Group supplies a broad range of highly-engineered solutions for the construction, industrial, packaging and transportation markets in more than 120 countries around the world. There are seven business units under the Performance Coatings Group, which include: Automotive Finishes, Coil Coatings, Engineered Polymer Solutions, General Industrial Coatings, Packaging Coatings, Protective & Marine, and Industrial Wood Coatings. The industrial markets we service include but are not limited to: Beverage & Food Cans, Furniture, Flooring, Cars, Airplanes, Marine, Oil & Gas, Electronics, Military and Appliances.

  • Become an effective business leader in technical sales, customer service, and business-to-business relationships.
  • Build knowledge and understanding of Sherwin-Williams sales process, business operations, paint products, market segments, customers, and go-to-market strategy
  • Excel at sales, customer service, finance, and strategic business planning (or business operations)
  • Professional networking opportunities to build cross-functional partnerships

Following successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to apply for a post-program promotion as an Sales Representative.

Basic Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in business related field preferably sales

·        GPA of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale

·        Previous experience in sales and/or customer service obtained through real work experience or internships

·        Interest in building client and customer-facing relationships in the field as well as interest in technical sales

 

·        Must be open to relocation based on business need for this position, and again for post program position and promotional opportunities

·        Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license

·        Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

·        Must be able to provide proof of auto insurance

·        Leadership in extra-curricular activities/organizations

·        Involvement in student organizations such as business or sales fraternity membership (Pi Sigma Ep, Future Business Leaders of America, Center for Professional Sales)

·        Strong communication, relationship building and organizational skills

·        Ability to travel overnight, approximately 15-20% of the time

·        Sales or business-related certifications

·        Experience using customer relationship management tools such as Salesforce

Other Qualifications:

·        Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs for short distances (think a large bag of dog food!)

·        Travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
