Job Descrption
As an ambitious and curious creative talent, the Performance Coatings Group (PCG) Graphic Design Co-Op is a part of the PCG Creative Services team, the in-house agency which supports and collaborates with all industrial divisions, as well as internal shared service teams, to bring marketing concepts to life. This dynamic team is responsible for upholding brand standards and therefore the integrity of the PCG and division-specific brands, furthering the company mission and value proposition. This position works closely with the Creative Services manager, copywriters, designers, project managers, videographers and presentation specialists to design visually impactful, thought-provoking and on-brand marketing collateral for both internal and external audiences.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Provide support to the Performance Coatings Group Creative Services team, servicing 7 industrial coatings divisions.
- Work with division Marketing Communications and collaborate with Creative Services Manager, Content Writers, Designers, and Project Coordinator to contribute to projects that could include ads, brochures, catalogs, logos, packaging, event invitations, signage, digital imagery, emails, landing pages and other marketing requests that align with Sherwin-Williams Corporate and Performance Coatings Group guidelines - using existing templates wherever possible.
- Work with division Marketing Communications teams to identify images needed for websites, confirm acceptable resolution, and upload images to a Digital Asset Management system.
- Work with division Product Management teams to identify product images needed for websites, confirm label art, generate product image renders, and upload images to a Digital Asset Management system.
- Prepare press-ready files for printed marketing collateral (sell sheets, color cards and brochures) working from existing templates where feasible.
- Provide additional support to the Creative Services team as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in Graphic Design with a minimum of 2 years in program
Preferred:
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop)
- Proficient in Microsoft-based software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong attention to detail, following directions, and striving for excellence.
- Results oriented with demonstrated organization to balance multiple projects, prioritize and work independently.
Preferred:
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Photo and Video shoots
- Team player with an eagerness to work with and learn from others.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop)
- Proficient in Microsoft-based software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Preferred:
- Experience creating ADA Accessible PDFs or Equidox
- Illustration, 3D/CGI and/or Motion Graphics/Animation experience
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: (TIME SPENT AWAY FROM HOME OR OTHER TYPICAL OFFICE LOCATION)
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- The position will be held on-site at our Headquarters location in downtown Cleveland, OH.
- Expectations would be for the Co-Op to work full-time during the summer months of May - August.
- This position is eligible to work in the office three days a week and has the option to work remotely two days a week.
- Co-Op will continue to work through the Fall Semester, part-time, with remote flexibility.
- Preferred graduation date of May 2025 of after.*
