Job Descrption
The position is an excellent opportunity for an individual to contribute to the long-term growth and development of the North American Analytical Center of Excellence. This position is primarily accountable for using scientific approaches to provide support to our applied research & product development programs and solve paint & coating problems for our North American businesses.
Responsibilities include:
- Appropriate application of analytical techniques and data analysis in support of problem-solving, regulatory projects and quality issues.
- Work with team members to develop new methods and implement new analytical techniques.
- Collaborate with various business partners to support research and new product development.
- Accurate documentation and presentation of lab results and technical information.
- Identify potential Continuous Improvement opportunities and drive necessary actions for implementation.

FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (“STEM”) field
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• 1 year of experience in a lab setting
• 1 year of experience with analytical techniques including FTIR, GC-MS, GPC
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a team setting
Preferred:
• 3 year of experience in a lab setting
• 3 year of experience with analytical techniques including FTIR, GC-MS, GPC
• Knowledge of polymers and coatings
• Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting skills
• Industrial Analytical laboratory experience
