Job Purpose:
The job-holder is required to support all the financial accounting related activities, the preparation of the group’s consolidated financials and its subsidiaries’, preparation of daily reports, co-ordinate with other finance teams in terms of accounting aspects and reporting information flow, reconciliations, maintenance of chart of accounts and other activities as applicable to add value to the performance of the financial accounting and reporting team and adding value to the performance of the financial accounting team.
Duties and responsibilities
Ensure all transactions are correctly accounted for and the information flow is complete from a group financial consolidation perspective and for its subsidiaries.
The Group and its subsidiaries’ Financials are prepared and presented in time as per IFRS.
Other reporting requirements like daily reports are sent in time.
Manage the consolidation process in FCCS
Maintenance of Chart of Accounts / Hyperion parameters
Support all system changes / enhancements
Support process optimization through focus on automation
Key point of contact for all accounting related aspects
Proactive interaction with finance and key business stakeholders.
Support all audits and reviews with external, internal and government auditors and regulators.
Focus and support on reconciliation and GL control aspects
Ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures and external regulations.
Manage team members to deliver optimum performance
Guide / mentor team members to develop and assume more responsibility.
Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant / CPA / ACCA or any other relevant professional accountancy qualification
Experience, knowledge and skills:
Prior work experience of 4-5 years, preferably in banking sector
Prior experience in financial accounting / auditing in a banking and financial services environment and knowledge of all applicable standards.
In-depth knowledge of accounting aspects and Financial reporting standards.
Good attention to detail and clear focus on controls and reconciliations
Strong computer skills and prior experience of working in an ERP system (Oracle, SAP etc)
