Hilton Head Hospital (HHH) is a 109-bed acute care hospital located at 25 Hospital Center Boulevard in Hilton Head Island, SC. Opened in 1974, HHH serves Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Okatie and surrounding counties through its care team of over 600 colleagues and over 100 physicians. The hospital provides a continuum of services through its centers and programs, including a 24-hour emergency department, critical care, cardiac care ranging from minimally invasive to open heart surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, urology, a nationally accredited breast health center, spine care, gastroenterology, surgical services, cardiac and physical rehabilitation, and a 12-bed geriatric psychiatric inpatient unit. Sterile Processing Tech Full Time Days Position Summary
To provide aseptic supplies and equipment to be used in patient care by utilizing the proper processing of instrumentation and supplies, i.e., cleaning, sterilizing, storing, etc.
THE STERILE PROCESSING TECH FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Education:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Certification from an approved CSS technician program, or in the process of achieving said certification preferred
Experience:
One (1) year experience as CST technician preferred
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of instruments and sterilization procedures. Knowledge of safety precautions and hazards of steam and Sterrad sterilizers.
Responsible for activities including, but not limited to decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation including various software applications, assembly, and delivery of surgical and interventional procedure case carts, paring and replenishment of materials, and working in collaboration with surgical partners to provide accurate and complete surgical instrumentation and needed supplies.
Education:
Required: High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
Preferred: 1 year in sterile processing.
Certifications:
Required: IAHCSMM or CBSPD certified.
