RN Cath Lab Full Time Days Position Summary
- Assist in the preparation of patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed during catheterization procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and responses throughout cardiac catheterization, promptly addressing any changes or complications.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to obtain comprehensive patient medical histories and coordinate pre-procedure assessments.
- Provide patient education and emotional support, ensuring they are informed and comfortable throughout the process.
- Assist in the insertion, manipulation, and removal of catheters under the direction of the physician.
- Document procedure details, patient information, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, maintaining a sterile environment within the catheterization lab.
- Participate in post-procedure care, including monitoring recovery and addressing any immediate postoperative concerns.
- Stay current with advancements in cardiac catheterization techniques and technologies.
Special Skills: One year experience in cardiac catheterization procedures. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Excellent customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills.
THE RN CATH LAB FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
Minimum Qualifications:
Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing school. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona. BSN Preferred. 1 year of acute care experience in cardiac catheterization
Minimum Certifications:
CPR. ACLS as applicable by Facility/Department. ACLS required upon orientation completion.
Preferred Experience:
Prefer 2 years of acute care experience in cardiac catheterization. Will consider 3 years of ICU/ER

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Education:
Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience:
Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
Certifications:
Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
