Summary
The Intake Clinician I will be providing Intake/Crisis Evaluations, diagnosis, prognosis, counseling, and psychotherapeutic interventions. The Intake Clinician performs required functions also referred to as Social Worker duties in a Psychiatric facility. Under direction, the Intake Clinician I provides clinical guidance to professional and technical personnel and provides education and consultation services to staff, community agencies and the public.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate from an accredited graduate program with receipt of a Master’s Degree in Social Work required. Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology may be substituted for the above educational requirement.
Experience: Two (2)years of experience in a Mental Health setting. Knowledge of; principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, Crisis Management, clinical case management, and various treatment modalities, biological, behavioral and environmental aspects of emotional disturbances, mental disability, retardation and substance abuse, culturally proficient practices with diverse caseload, scope and activities of the public and private health and welfare agencies and other available resources, principles and techniques of mental health education, prevention, and crisis intervention within the community.
License/Certificates/ Credentials: Valid CA drivers license and automotive insurance. Valid BLS certification. Maintain annual certification for crisis intervention and management program designated by this employer.

Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases, subject to varying and unpredictable situations, exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, trauma, illness and death), emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours, occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries, occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances and biohazard material.
Pay Range: $38.94 - $60.36 hourly

This individual’s responsibility will include the following activities:
a) complex psycho-social transition planning assessment and reassessment and intervention,
b) assistance with adoptions, abuse and neglect cases, including assessment, intervention and referral as appropriate to local, state and /or federal agencies,
c) care coordination,
d) implementation or oversight of implementation of the transition plan,
e) leading and/or facilitating multi-disciplinary patient care conferences including Complex Case Review,
f) making appropriate referrals to other departments, g ) communicating with patients and families about the plan of care,
h) collaborating with physicians, office staff, and ancillary departments,
I) assuring patient education is completed to support post-acute needs,
j) timely complete and concise documentation in Case Management system, k ) maintenance of accurate patient demographic and insurance information, and
l) other duties as assigned.
Required: Bachelor's of Social Work
Experience:Preferred: 1 year of acute hospital experience
Certifications:Required: BSW. Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law or regulation in state of practice or policy. Active license for state(s) covered.
Preferred: Accredited Case Manager (ACM)
Lift/position up to 25 lbs. Push/pull up to 25 lbs of force. Frequent sitting. Moderate standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending. Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position.
