POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the general cleanliness of the following areas at the Medical Facilities: Procedure areas, Wound Care, Emergency Department, GI Lab, Intensive Care Unit patient care areas, rest rooms, and all other areas requiring Environmental Services support. Removes trash and linen from the hospital using compactor and cardboard baler. Distributes linen throughout the hospital. The routine work of this employee, depending upon area of assignment, consists of sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping, surface cleaning all floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and other glass areas, waiting areas and public hallways. Performs terminal cleaning of isolation rooms or exam rooms as required. Moving of furniture and other heavy equipment is accomplished as directed. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate, GED, or 2 years of full time work experience in environmental services in lieu of education.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of cleaning experience in hospitality or healthcare and terminal cleaning experience.

Monitors workflow and gives instructions to ES Technicians based on instructions received from the coordinator or department director. Cleans all assigned areas and completes other tasks as defined in written work schedules. Follows all steps listed on the work schedule. Ensures there is coverage for all work areas at the beginning of the shift. Calls in employees as needed, to cover work areas at the beginning of the shift (with permission of the coordinator or director). Redistributes work as needed. Trains new employees. Documents employee incidents. Responds to needs. Follow-up to ensure assignments are complete. Communicates all pertinent information to the department management. Assumes responsibility for ES operations during the absence of management.
Education:Required: High school graduate, GED with ability to read, write and understand the English language.
Experience:Required: 5 years of full-time work experience in environmental services in lieu of education. 5 years of cleaning experience in hospitality or healthcare setting and terminal clean experience.
