Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
Completion of a North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I course.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
Key Responsibilities:
Nursing Process Participation: Participate in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct care to patients under the guidance of the Registered Nurse (RN).
Special Procedures: Execute special procedures accurately as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN).
Safety and Therapeutic Environment: Establish and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, co-workers, and the facility.
Communication: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely communication of patient information to all relevant parties. Communicate effectively with the team, co-workers, patients, and family members in a positive and professional manner.
Personal Responsibility: Take personal responsibility and initiative for your performance, professional growth, and development.
Age/Developmental Specific Care: Provide patient care in line with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines relevant to the age groups served.
Skills/Qualifications:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform effectively even with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
Basic computer skills.
Work Environment:
Interaction with patients, family members, visitors, co-workers, and medical staff in diverse situations.
Regular exposure to blood-borne diseases, infectious, and contagious diseases.
Subject to frequent interruptions.
Occasional exposure to radiation hazards.
Possible exposure to cleaning agents/chemicals.
Occasional irregular hours may be required.
Use of personal protective equipment when necessary.
