Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
- Completion of a North Carolina State Approved Nurse Aide I course.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nursing Process Participation: Participate in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct care to patients under the guidance of the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Special Procedures: Execute special procedures accurately as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Safety and Therapeutic Environment: Establish and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, co-workers, and the facility.
- Communication: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely communication of patient information to all relevant parties. Communicate effectively with the team, co-workers, patients, and family members in a positive and professional manner.
- Personal Responsibility: Take personal responsibility and initiative for your performance, professional growth, and development.
- Age/Developmental Specific Care: Provide patient care in line with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines relevant to the age groups served.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform effectively even with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
- Basic computer skills.
Work Environment:
- Interaction with patients, family members, visitors, co-workers, and medical staff in diverse situations.
- Regular exposure to blood-borne diseases, infectious, and contagious diseases.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Occasional exposure to radiation hazards.
- Possible exposure to cleaning agents/chemicals.
- Occasional irregular hours may be required.
- Use of personal protective equipment when necessary.
