To manage the implementation and embedment of a resource management vision and strategy for the Water, Energy, Earth & Environment (WEEE) Business Unit to optimise resource allocation and to deliver capability growth and development in accordance with business ambitions. Reporting to the Business Unit Operations Director the key responsibilities will include:-
- To lead activity and deliver short-term resource optimisation benefits - balancing business financial targets (utilisation and multiplier), People-First decisions and Client experience.
- To co-ordinate the planning, in the long term (6 month – 2 years), of the appropriate capability resource requirements as part of a whole workforce management strategy (including Resource Management and Recruitment in the UK and India).
- To support the Resource Management vision of resource agility – bringing the benefit for our clients, our business and our people.
- Foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in the business to build an understanding of business need in the short- and longer-term. For example (but not limited to):
- Heads of Discipline, Head of Profession and Service Line Directors.
- BU and Discipline Operation Directors.
- Managing Directors to build an understanding of immediate focus areas and longer-term strategic goals.
- Business Development Team.
- HR and Recruitment.
- Implement resource levelling across discipline by monitoring supply and demand. Optimise resourcing model through governance and allocation of UK and India staff, in accordance with commercial plans, client need and meeting our employer-of-choice objectives. Negotiate on skills and grade mix to achieve optimal size and shape of team, taking account of L&D needs, skills gaps, and recruitment plans.
- Provide insight on skills and capabilities required and contribute to short-, medium- and long-term business plans, adding value through strategic resourcing decisions and develop the understanding of the business into action plans and focus areas for Resource Management and Strategic Workforce Planning. Provide insight into the analytics, modelling and data integrity required for long term strategic planning.
- Liaise and maintain relationships with all relevant leadership figures across business unit.
- Be a trusted advisor for the resource management and development of future resource capabiltiy.
- Align operational activity with the strategic business plans for each area of the business.
- Work closely with peers in HR, L&D, Recruitment, Finance and Operations to communicate and develop plans in accordance with other departmental priorities.
- Create resourcing initaitives through rigorous analysis and support business wide resource management vision.
- Proactively engage in resource demand profiling for new client wins and support bid submissions.
- Support the mobilisation of major projects and programmes – knowledge of talent across the business, potential for succession, resource forecasting pre-win and radpid mobilisation after.
- Prior experience developed in role where business partnering was key to success.
- Able to manage complex issues and act as trusted advisor to business unit senior leadership team.
- Lead with integrity and have the courage and confidence to challenge, using evidence, strong relationships, and an understanding of the business unit to influence effectively.
- Significant experience in resource management and workforce planning.
- Strong leadership skills with a keen eye for detail and high level of data accuracy .
- A blend of people, data and operational skill sets, collaborative with peers, confident and self-aware with senior audiences.
- High integrity.
- Able to build relationships based on mutual trust and confidence, able to manage change effectively.
- Confident communicator - used to dealing with people at all levels, in particular, at senior level.
- Demonstrates determination, resourcefulness, and purpose to deliver best results for the business.
- Is future-focused, inquisitive, and open-minded; seeks out evolving and innovative ways to add value to the business.
- Uses information, insights, sound judgement and knowledge in a structured way to identify options and make robust resourcing decisions.
- A flexible attitude and a willingness to share knowledge.
