Wood is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager to contribute and maintain the delivery of Engineering excellence at SAGE Gas Terminal. The Engineering Manager will be based full time at our Aberdeen Offices.
Accountabilities:
Leading the Asset’s technical support / engineering team
Driving HSSE excellence in Engineering
Ensuring regulatory compliance at SAGE
Ownership of all study and project work on behalf of SAGE
Driving technical assurance
Supporting the Operations Manager and the Terminal Manager
Executing assigned business objectives
Actively leads in Competency and Training
Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
Developing and retaining motivated and competent people
Undertake the role of process owner
Performance reporting to Wood and client senior management
People:
Manage performance of direct reports
Ensures compliance and adherence of competence procedures of SAGE Technical / Engineering team
Manages succession planning and delivery on behalf of SAGE
Setting and improving standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people
Manage recruitment, selection, transfers, and promotion of resources to meet the SAGE Technical / Engineering team’s requirements
Process Ownership:
Continuous promotion of corporate / client specific procedures
Development and delivery of the technical safety standard expectations and technical assurance
Drive compliance and adherence of competence procedures of Engineering Team
Monitor compliance with competence standards
Manage incident investigations as required
Set performance expectations for direct reports
Subject Matter Expertise:
Actively maintaining own competence and continuous development
Assist in providing technical support to studies and projects as required
Roll out and implementation of learning opportunities from across the business
Conduit for regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments
General:
Deputising for SAGE Operations Manager as required
Participates in Emergency Response organisation
Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to respective team
Executing assigned business objectives
Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively

Qualifications:
Degree qualification in engineering subject
or
HNC or equivalent with extensive engineering experience
Chartered Engineer or equivalent with recognised professional body

Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position

Capable of representing Operations EMEA and client to business associates in a professional manner
Capable use of discipline software and proactively encourage development
