Job Description: Cabling General Foreman
We are currently seeking a Cabling General Foreman to lead our cable installation and civil works teams. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects related to cable installation, groundworks, and environmental mitigation.
Objectives
- Supervise and Lead Teams: You will oversee teams involved in cable installation, excavation, duct installation, and related civil works. Your leadership will be essential in maintaining productivity and safety.
- Groundworks and Excavation: Coordinate groundworks, excavation, and site preparation activities. Ensure that all work adheres to safety protocols and project requirements.
- Cable Installation and Removal: Manage cable installation and removal processes, including joint bays, fiber pits, and link boxes.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and mitigation measures. Minimize the impact of our work on the surrounding environment.
- Safety First: Prioritize safety by delivering work safely and on schedule. Implement safety protocols and best practices.
- Productivity and Program Expectations: Deliver work efficiently, meeting program expectations and project timelines.
- Reliability and Trustworthiness: As a representative of our company, you must be reliable, trustworthy, and honest in all interactions.
- Professional Conduct: Always act respectfully when dealing with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Represent Wood with integrity.
- Efficient Execution: Execute all activities according to agreed-upon work plans, safety management system requirements, and industry best practices.
Cabling General Foreman Responsibilities:
Safety & Quality Assurance:
- Implement safety protocols and work instructions.
- Complete work scopes to high standards.
- Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks.
- Report progress and address issues promptly.
Operational Coordination:
- Supervise subcontractors.
- Assist with site-based lookahead programs.
- Maintain detailed site records.
- Issue permits as needed.
Risk Management & Performance:
- Conduct daily risk assessments.
- Monitor operative performance.
- Efficiently manage labor and resources.
Safety First:
- Use “Stop Work Authority” when unsafe.
- Prioritize safety and risk assessment.
Qualifications for Cabling General Foreman:
Essential:
- Asbestos Awareness E-Learning.
- COSHH Awareness E-Learning.
- ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport / EUSR SHEA Power.
- Fire Awareness.
- Deep excavations training.
- Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme.
- Cat & Genny/ HSG47.
- Street works training for operatives and Supervisor NRSWA.
- LOLER Awareness (E-Learning).
- Manual Handling Awareness E-Learning.
- Wood Environmental Awareness (Issued on employment).
- Wood HSEAA Induction (Issued on employment).
- Wood Life Saving Rules (Issued on employment).
- Working at Height Awareness.
Desirable:
- Setting out experience (EDM) Trained.
- Excavation Operator.
- Harness and Fall Arrest.
- CDM Regulations 2015 Awareness.
- HSE First Aid - P1.
- Hand Arm Vibration (HAVS) Awareness E-Learning.
- Impressed Voltage Awareness training (IVAT).
- Inspection of PPE.
- ECITB Abrasive Wheels.
- Spill Management.
- DVLA Towing Licence training and test.
