This role is key to our operation, translating customer activity into data against forecasting.
You will provide comprehensive support for the day to day financial functions and operations for our UK Contract Logistics sites. You will assist in partnering with the management team for finance, operations and help with our customers growing UK portfolio.
Our successful candidate will be a data driven, finance professional, with a keen eye for detail and continuous improvement. You will ideally be AAT or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience.
Location: Mimworth, Hybrid working
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

About the Role
- Assist with timely and accurate month end close as well as providing meaningful variance analysis of results and commentary against budget / forecast – WD4 with support from the sites business controller. Supporting accruals, volumes, freight, cost analysis.
- Support the preparation & timely distribution of month-end finance package including collection of details on reporting numbers. Supporting pulling the packs together and any additional verifications requirements.
- Assist in partnering support to operations helping with weekly P&L preparation. Build collaborative relationships between the business and finance through joint understanding and discussion of results. Keeping communications going.
- Support budgeting and forecasting process for required sites alongside the business controllers and with site managers confirmations.
- Populate weekly customer tracker and billing files and review thoroughly. Understand the customer, volumes and costs.
- Reinforcing Balance Sheet Control. Working with the finance team to ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and signed off monthly and support risk is mitigated.
- Helping assemble weekly flash reports and providing feedback detail on business performance.
- Identify and process strengths and weaknesses of the business, present areas of improvement supported by the analysis undertaken, detailing the process improvement in terms of productivity and cost.
- Conduct various analysis on both own initiative and on request from management, reporting back the finding and recommendations.
- Supporting the finance team members where required.
What you will bring
- Minimum AAT Qualified
- 2 or more years relevant experience in a finance role
- Strong analytical and presentation of results skills
- IT literate including strong Excel skills, Outlook, Word, Power point
- Knowledge of SAP / BPC would be an advantage
