Commercial Business Analyst – Ports and Terminals UK
About the Role
DP World London Gateway have an exciting opportunity, for a Commercial Business Analyst to join Port Commercial team. This role provides analytical back-end support to the commercial team in compiling necessary data for pricing models, contract negotiations, projects and processes enhancements. Responsible for running analysis for decision making in contribution towards business performance & sales efforts in line with commercial strategy and objectives.
How you will contribute
Provide strategic planning data and analysis to support the business development of DP World’s UK Ports.
- Provide strategic analysis to support the Commercial department of DP World in the UK with a key focus on London Gateway, and London Gateway Logistics Park.
- Analyse customer performance through investigation of current volumes and revenue streams.
- Compile regular daily and monthly reports with defined formats in addition to performing ad-hoc reporting requests, primarily on terminal performance.
- Research existing and potential markets to identify opportunities for potential growth where DP World has a competitive advantage.
- Assist in analysing and resolving customer complaints and claims.
- Following up on commercial/operational issues at hand by carrying out root cause analysis, providing suggestions for improvement and ensuring proper implementation.
- Support administration of the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
- Support development and implementation of new customer value propositions.
- Manage client correspondence and ensure that feedback and market information is distributed and dealt with effectively internally at London Gateway and at Regional Head Office.
- Involvement in a range of business projects.
- Weekly updating of the Monthly volume forecasts for the various functions.
- Generating and supporting the volume forecasts for budget and reforecasts in consultation with finance.
What you will bring
- Appropriate business experience in shipping or logistics (advantageous).
- Excellent analytical capability.
- Experience of producing and developing comprehensive business reports advantageous.
- Experience of using SQL, PowerBI and/or Business Objects for reporting an advantage.
- Good analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions from statistical data.
- Ability to identify appropriate sources of information for research purposes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels with confidence.
- Computer literate in MS applications like MS Excel and MS Access to an advanced level, experience with implementation of new IT systems.
- Experience of customer engagement.
- Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
