The Opportunity:
The post holder will play a vital role within the School of Geosciences Finance Business Support Team, providing expert knowledge to colleagues on all aspects of Business Support for Transactions. The post holder will also provide advice & expert guidance to staff and students on standard University financial processes and policies
The successful applicant will have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a busy environment. They should be able to work on their own initiative as well as being an active team member. We are looking for someone enthusiastic who wants to learn and grow within our team. Full training will be provided.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
We adopt hybrid working pattern (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
Your skills and attributes for success:
• A working understanding of purchasing or finance administration.
• Excellent numeracy skills, including knowledge of the principles of budget creation.
• Excellent initiative and judgement in dealing with finance issues.
• Knowledge of an electronic purchase order system.
• Experience of an integrated accounting package or purchasing software.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
