We are seeking an eager Refinery Operator for our East Chicago, IN location to perform and oversee various refinery plant operational duties within an industrial work environment while monitoring and controlling the refining/processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

- Operate and monitor refinery plant equipment and processes according to established procedures and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on refinery plant equipment and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
- Monitor and maintain process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical concentrations, to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and control refinery plant emissions to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Communicate with other plant personnel and management to coordinate activities and ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Complete necessary documentation, including operating logs, maintenance records, and safety reports.
- Participate in training and development programs to maintain and improve skills.
What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors Company?
- High School or equivalent required
- 3 to 5 years in an industrial environment preferred
- Able to follow direction and take initiative
- Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Confined space or hazmat experience an asset
- Writing permits is a plus!
- Must be able to multi-task and work well in a team
- Knowledge of process control systems, such as distributed control systems (DCS) preferred
- Work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb on a ladder, reach, stoop, stand for long periods
