The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.
We have openings for our inpatient units:
3rd Surgical: 23-bed inpatient unit with primary patient populations of general surgery, orthopedics, abdominal diagnoses, and trauma.
7th Medical: 23-bed inpatient unit with primary patient population of cardiac, neuro, stroke, and oncology. PCAs on this unit are trained as telemetry technicians.
9th Center: 22-bed inpatient unit that cares for general medical and pediatrics populations.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
Additional Qualifications :
Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
License or Certification :
Basic Life Support for Health Care Provides from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
Internal applicants should attach their three most recent performance appraisals.
