This two-year limited tenure position will primarily focus on supporting new graduate nurses with less than 24 months experience in the inpatient setting. This role will intentionally round on new graduate nurses and foster clinical skills, critical thinking, and wellbeing. This position may also support teaching in nursing professional development programs and/or classes such as AVADE (workplace violence prevention), medical emergency response/restraint competency evaluation, pulmonary management, and patient care assistant skills day.
The RN Clinical Educator works collaboratively with an Nursing Education Specialist (NES) partner or under the direction of the Nursing Education Manager to assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities through a systems model for Department of Nursing staff including orientation, continuing education, and competency programs. Roles of the RN Clinical Educator include learning facilitator, change agent, leader, advocate for Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialty and partner for practice transitions.

Graduate of an accredited, or those in the candidacy process, baccalaureate nursing program, masters preferred. Minimum of two years of nursing practice experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
Additional Qualifications:
Preceptor experience preferred. Demonstrated teaching, organizational, and prioritization skills. Ability to be self-directed. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to role model and teach professional nursing practice. Computer skills.

License or Certification:
Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Arizona and Florida - Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. Midwest - Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.
Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
