Research Assistant – Shapiro Lab - Limited Tenure at Mayo Clinic

Job Descrption
This is a 1 year Limited Tenure assignment with the potential to extend up to 2 years.
Performs various support functions in research laboratory using proper procedures to avoid the risk of laboratory-acquired infection or sample-to-sample contamination. Maintains and cleans equipment and the facility; maintains and restocks supplies; and maintains computer database. Works under direct supervision. Attention to detail is essential while dealing with multiple tasks. Flexibility is important in adjusting to frequent changes in work volume. (011380)
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences.
- Must have previous work experience that demonstrates organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Requires manual dexterity, accurate typing, and good communication skills. Must be able to prioritize and adjust to changes in work volume.
- Experience with Excel software is preferred.
- This position involves mouse colony management, must be willing to work with mice in a research environment.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is not eligible for F-1 OPT STEM extension.
