SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Manager of Membership Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the Museum's acquisition, renewal, engagement, and retention campaigns and projects to ensure continued growth in membership numbers and engagement and achieve our revenue goals. The Membership Marketing Manager will firmly commit to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging, reinforcing the Museum's mission to "inspire a lifelong love of science in everyone.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the supervision of the Director, Membership, and in cooperation with the Membership Operations Manager, create and implement marketing campaigns to achieve the strategic and financial goals assigned by the Director utilizing emails, web, social, and direct mail with the support of our internal departments.
  • Using best practice marketing automation and audience segmentation, including trigger and lifecycle campaigns, develop a Moves Management strategy with support from internal partners to grow MOS audiences, convert visitors to members, and increase unrestricted giving.
  • Ensure all outgoing communications to members and partners are timely and up to date, the department is informed of current communications and escalation response strategies, vendor accounts are maintained, and projects are completed successfully, on time, and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary Marketing contact for the Membership Department, which includes participation in recurring planning meetings with other internal marketing, email, web, and social stakeholders to ensure that Membership is appropriately placed within the overall Museum marketing landscape and that the Museum's email communications are effectively engaging across all audiences.
  • Using Google Analytics, email marketing analytics, and CRM analytics tools, test and report on renewal, acquisition, engagement messaging, and strategies and use results to recommend and inform future campaigns.
  • Direct oversight and management of the Membership Marketing Communication Specialist
  • Support the Museum by helping to enact the Museum's policies, procedures, and initiatives and serving as a positive Museum representative to the internal and external communities.
  • Perform other work-related duties as required.


REPORTS TO: Director, Membership

WORK SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Saturday (Hybrid)


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor of Science or Arts degree.

Experience: Five (5) years of marketing experience.

• Proven written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Advanced customer service skills, including experience with escalations and customer service.

• Three years of experience executing email campaigns with an email service provider OR marketing project management.

• Three or more years of experience managing others

• Data analytics, reporting, and interpretation

• Proven track record working in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated experience working in Microsoft Office Suite

• Proven track record implementing marketing communications best practices as they apply to direct mail, email, and digital advertising.

• Experience overseeing vendor relationships

• Museum membership or advancement background

• Experience using SalesForce or other CRM system

• Experience using Ticketure or another POS ticketing system

• Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other email service provider

• Experience using Google Analytics

• Familiarity with CAN-SPAM and postal regulations


STARTING SALARY:

Exempt (Salaried): $75,000-$80,000 yearly
